SensioLabs sponsors the new Symfony 6.3 release

proud sponsor of symfnoy 6.3

The new minor version Symfony 6.3 came out at the end of May, adding new features before the release of Symfony 6.4 at the end of the year. Find out why SensioLabs decided to sponsor Symfony 6.3, as well as the main changes in this new version.

What’s new in Symfony 6.3

Symfony 6.3 is the latest maintained version of the framework, incorporating the most recent features developed by contributors.

Numerous new features have been added to this minor release. Here are some highlights:

Notifier integration: Symfony 6.3 adds new Notifier integrations for Twitter, Mastodon, LINE, Pushover, PagerDuty, and more.

WebProfiler improvements: Version 6.3 enhances the profiler with improved accessibility, dynamic favicons, and clickable template paths.

Password strength constraint: Passwords are essential for many websites and applications for security reasons. In version 6.3, a new constraint validates the strength of given passwords and reinforces the security of websites and applications.

SensioLabs, a Symfony Backer

As the creator of Symfony, SensioLabs has supported the roadmap and growth of the framework since its inception. So it was no surprise that we sponsored Symfony 6.3 and became a Backer.

The Backers program enables companies working with Symfony to finance and contribute to the growth of the Open Source framework.

For any Open Source project, contributing code or documentation is the most common way to help. Symfony thrives thanks to pull requests from the community, adapting to new contexts, and developing new features. SensioLabs plays an active part in this effort. In fact, SensioLabs donates more than 100 hours of developer contributions per year to the Symfony project.

In funding the new version of Symfony, SensioLabs strengthens its support for Symfony. At the same time, it is an opportunity to acknowledge the amazing community of Symfony contributors (one of the largest in the world for an Open Source project).

When you become a Backer, you can sponsor multiple Symfony items and gain visibility:

A full version of Symfony: for example Symfony 6.0, 5.4, etc.

A Symfony component for a specific Symfony version (e.g., Console for Symfony 5.4, Messenger for Symfony 6.2, etc.).

A Week of Symfony: a digest of the week’s Symfony news.

The Symfony Fast Track book, written by Fabien Potencier for each major Symfony release and translated into many languages.

Congratulations to all contributors on the release of Symfony 6.3!
