Symfony has been increasingly popular among companies with new great web development success stories. SensioLabs, the creator of Symfony, has recently released inspirational business cases with Gault & Millau and BSN Sports. Learn more about the potential of Symfony for two businesses as different as a French gastronomic guide and a US custom sportswear manufacturer.

Gault & Millau: A Success Story on Migrating to Cloud Computing

Gault & Millau is a famous French gastronomic guide since 1972, listing numerous restaurants in digital format and supporting innovation in gastronomy. In addition to this guide, Gault & Millau labels certain products for major brands and organizes numerous events, including partnerships with leading brands.

To consistently offer quality service and keep evolving, the digital activities identified a need for a complete redesign of the Gault & Millau websites.

SensioLabs, the creator of Symfony, and Platform.sh helped Gault & Millau overcome its development challenges. SensioLabs first helped Gault & Millau create an optimized infrastructure in a cloud infrastructure workshop and migrate the backend to Symfony.

Then, Platform.sh provided dynamic, easy-to-manage, and scalable environments, as well as extreme agility through an automated hosting solution for continuous deployment.

BSN Sports: A New US-Based Symfony Success Story

For our latest Symfony success story, we head to the United States with BSN Sports.

BSN Sports is the largest manufacturer of custom high school sportswear in the United States. The company produces everything from T-shirts and sweatpants to soccer jerseys, water bottles, and soccer balls.

To continue to convey and support the depth and variety of its offerings, BSN needed a platform to support its sales team more effectively. From a technical perspective, BSN needed to reposition its current applications on the Symfony framework and sought consulting services for the architecture and implementation of the core framework.

As the creator of the Symfony PHP framework, SensioLabs re-platformed BSN Sports’ applications on Symfony. Thanks to Symfony, BSN Sports now designs team uniforms and custom artworks in the blink of an eye. SensioLabs teamed up with Unleashed, our preferred partner in the US, to co-architect and develop the BSN Sports application.

Learn how BSN Sports empowered its sales representatives and schools to turn what was once an expensive process into an efficient, creative, and even fun one: Team Art Locker.
