SensioLabs Diamond Sponsor

On March 23 and 24, SensioLabs sponsored SymfonyLive Paris 2023 a the Cité Universitaire de Paris. Like every year, the French-speaking Symfony community gathered for a conference with many inspiring talks. Read our summary of this exciting event.

SensioLabs, a recurring sponsor of SymfonyLive Paris

Like last year, SensioLabs was the workshop sponsor of the conference. We hosted the SymfonyLive Paris 2023 pre-conference workshops on March 21-22. In two days, participants attended training sessions on Symfony and PHP run by experts in our office in Asnières, near Paris.

This year again, SensioLabs sponsored the conference as a Diamond sponsor. For many years, Symfony has been organizing SymfonyLive Paris in the enchanting Cité Universitaire de Paris. With many sponsors and more than 500 participants, the conference kept its promises! Fabien Potencier announced the release of the new Scheduler component in Symfony 6.3. The sponsors offered the participants more and more creative activations and goodies.

On our side, almost all the SensioLabs staff attended the conference. Nobody wants to miss the main Symfony event in France.

During the two days of the conference, the SensioLabs team welcomed many attendees at our booth.

Our traditional challenge on SensioLabs University Platform took place with a new reward: the winner received a colored gaming keyboard after a successful test on Symfony and PHP. Participants also entered in our raffle draw for a coveted elePHPant plush 🐘 and customized sports bottles.

Congratulations to all the winners!

In addition, we organized a culinary animation for those of you with a sweet tooth. We had delicious pancakes 🥞 to enjoy without moderation during the breaks.

SymfonyLive Paris 2023: the team building

At Symfony conferences, we are always thrilled to get to know better the members of the community. It’s also an opportunity for the SensioLabs team to gather. Some of our team members work 100% remotely from home. SymfonyLive Paris is the best place to meet all together.

This year, on Thursday evening, Symfony organized an aperitif at the Café du Théâtre de la Cité Universitaire de Paris. Passionate Symfony developers could share about the first day of the conference.

Then, the SensioLabs team followed up the night with our first team building of the year. We received galactical jackets and lasers for an exhilarating laser tag experience 🔫 Some of us turned out to be excellent snipers! After two hours of intense games, we shared pizzas and drinks to enjoy the night together.

Focus on: SQLite in production? What if you reevaluate your options? by Guillaume Loulier

After a first successful talk at a SymfonyOnline conference in 2021, Guillaume Loulier, developer at SensioLabs, gave his first physical talk at SymfonyLive Paris 2023.

Created in the 2000s for the US Army, SQLite primarly aimed to help the military record firing coordinates without a network. When they are, for instance, in the middle of the Atlantic. SQLite integrates natively with PHP. Loulier explained the main advantage of SQLite: it does not rely on a client-server model. Therefore, it does not require a network call.

SQLite is a fully serverless, resilient, and fast open-source solution. Loulier added that, for a long time, there have been misconceptions about using it in production. But today SQLite has the same stability as MySQL and PostgreSQL.

It was a pleasure to sponsor the SymfonyLive Paris this year again!

A big thanks to Symfony, the participants, and all the sponsors for making SymfonyLive Paris such a great event 👏
