February was a busy month for SensioLabs regarding events related to Symfony. We attended Symfony meetups and conferences in France, Switzerland, England and finally Canada. We invite you to join us in this article for our review of February. Enjoy reading!

As the creator of Symfony, SensioLabs promotes the framework worldwide by engaging with the community. That’s why the events we attend are an excellent opportunity to share our passion for Symfony.

Symfony Events in Rennes and Basel

On February 6th, SensioLabs sponsored the AFUP Rennes meeting with Symfony. Nicolas Grekas, Ludovic Duval and Romain, one of our Rennes developers and also a member of the local AFUP, were present.

Samsic welcomed us to their premises and provided feedback on Messenger and ChatGPT with Symfony. Nicolas Grekas talked about the latest features in Symfony 7.

After the talks and an immersive Symfony quiz, our team joined the participants for further discussions over drinks and pizza.

That same week we headed to Switzerland for the PHP Symfony User Group meetup in Basel. The meetup was organized by IWF Web Solutions. Mathéo Daninos, Full Stack Developer at SensioLabs, presented a talk on “All you need to get started with SymfonyUX and start loving your front-end.”

PHP UK, the Largest PHP Conference in London

A week later, from February 14th to 16th, SensioLabs participated once again in PHP UK. PHP UK is a major annual PHP conference held in cosmopolitan London at The Brewery. We attend almost every year.

SensioLabs was a Gold Sponsor at the 2024 edition and spent two amazing days with over 350 attendees from the English PHP community.

This year, SensioLabs wasn’t just a sponsor of the event. On the second day of the conference, Mathéo Daninos from the SensioLabs technical team gave his talk “Boosting Web Engagement with Symfony UX.” The talk showcased a faster, smoother, and more efficient development path with Symfony UX!

No spoiler, the replay is fully available on the official YouTube channel of PHP UK.

Congratulations to him on his exciting presentation!

At the end of the conference we received a personalized ElePHPant plush toy. So British! As soon as it arrived, it joined the ElePHPant tribe in our Asnières-sur-Seine offices.

SensioLabs and Symfony in Canada

Finally, SensioLabs crossed the Atlantic Ocean and brought Symfony to Montreal for a meetup organized with Full Stack Gurus Montréal.

Enthusiasts and those curious to learn more about Symfony came to hear Nicolas Grekas talk about the latest updates in Symfony 7. It was the first Symfony meetup held in Montreal in a long time. Afterwards, we enjoyed some pizza and drinks.

Many thanks to Platform.sh and Majisti Inc. for supporting the meetup, and to ÉTS Formation for hosting us in their excellent facilities!

After this successful meetup, we attended a three-day ConFoo conference, the leading multi-technology conference in Quebec and North America. The 2024 edition was held at the Bonaventure Hotel and featured numerous speakers from Canada and around the world covering cutting-edge development topics.

During the breaks, attendees had the opportunity to visit our stand and meet our team. They received our exclusive lip balm goodies, adapted to the extreme cold of Canada. We could also talk to them about their Symfony and PHP projects. We noticed that Symfony is highly favored in Montreal, with numerous ongoing projects.

February has been a bustling month for Symfony! It was wonderful to witness the global appreciation and support for Symfony.

Thank you to the organizers and attendees for their warm welcome!

We look forward to seeing you again on March 28th and 29th for SymfonyLive Paris 2024, which promises to be a sporty event!
